Performance & Specs
The Subaru Outback comes outfitted with the 2.5L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine. This particular flat-laying engine uses its horizontally-opposed valves that use the excess energy to power the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. This engine is able to produce 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, while getting an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG!
Drivers looking for more power may want to opt for the Outback Onyx Edition XT. This trim offers the exclusive 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which can produce 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Interior
The spacious Outback offers 109 cubic feet of space for the five passengers that it’s equipped to carry. The first row includes 40.1 inches of headroom and 42.8 inches of legroom. The rear features 39.1 inches of headroom and 39.5 inches of legroom.
The Outback also includes some space for your materials when you’re setting out on an adventure. There’s 32.5 cubic feet of space to work with, but when you fold the rear seats flat, it opens the back to 75.7 cubic feet of total cargo space.
Technology
The interior of the Subaru Outback offers some sophisticated technology that you can use on your treks. There’s the STARLINK® Dual 7-inch Multimedia system, which includes two touchscreen displays at the center of the dashboard that you can use to select your media from the HD Radio®, the USB-connected device, your Bluetooth®-paired phone, or even the SiriusXM®, which is offered with a 4-month trial.
